Ordering
A Grumpy Cat Play – A Step-By-Step Guide
1. Decide upon
the play or musical you want to produce by reading the Sample Scripts
2. Work out when, where and how many shows you want
to perform (for calculating Royalties)
3. Work out the cast size or if you want the Photocopy
Deal (for calculating Script Levies)
4. E-mail us with your details and the information
from Steps 1-3 and we will forward you a Production Agreement
5. Sign and return the Production Agreement with the
nominated deposit. A script and receipt will be sent out to you straight
away so that you can get started on your show
Note: The Production Agreement
and deposit are entered into our system and ensure you have the Performance
Rights to stage the play. ‘Grumpy Cat’ is legally required
to retain all Production Agreement originals as they are considered
legal contracts and/or agreements. A signed copy of your original Production
Agreement will always be forwarded to you for your own records
6. For ticketed performances, when your production/show
is concluded, we request that you send us a summary of the Gross Box
Office Takings from which we will calculate and invoice you the Royalty
Note: Royalties are a percentage of the
ticket price which is paid to the playwright for creating the work.
Concomitant with Australian Writers’ Guild standards, ‘Grumpy
Cat’ charges 10% of Gross Box Office Takings (with a minimum
of AU$55.00 (GST inc) per performance) for any production
attended by a paying audience
